I have done the painting of Murphy our son's dog who died recently. I don't do animals as a rule but I make an exception for family. He was 14yrs so a good age.
He was mostly black Labrador and consequently I needed to use a bit of artistic licence to bring out his features otherwise it would be just a black silhouette! The photograph could be better but the battery on the camera died after taking it so I couldn't be bothered to redo it. If you look closely at a black lab the colours in the coat include purples browns and blues this is reflected in the painting.
I decided to do it 6ins x 6 ins on reflection it would have been easier to do it a bit bigger.
